Our First Troc Visit... and Purchase!

Dustin and I had planned all week to spend Saturday shopping at the Trocs.  They are the local consignment stores and we had heard nothing but positive reviews.  There was one in Charleroi, about 45 minutes from Mons, right outside of Brussels.  We also planned to hit two others that were on the way.

We were not disappointed.  It is amazing what people here will sell in order to go purchase some new, cheap Ikea furniture.  Some of the pieces were down right amazing, but just too big and bulky for our apartment (that is if we would even be able to get them into our apartment!)

We decided on a glass front cabinet.  I am going to paint it white since the finish doesn't go with our apartment, but the details in the piece are beautiful.  One of Dustin's coworkers graciously offered to help us transport the piece in his SUV, so hopefully we have it sometime this week.

We also made a pit stop at Zara and I got a amazing teal coat for just 59 Euros.  I am not sure if I was more excited about the coat or furniture!

After a long day of shopping we went to Jon and Amy's house for lasagna and wine to celebrate Jon's birthday.  We then went out in downtown Mons for a few drinks.  The local music never seems to disappoint (note the sarcasm!)  I really miss the music in New Orleans!  But despite the, um... different, atmosphere, it was a great night.  They are always a blast to hang out with.
