My First Belgian Concert!

Last night Dustin and I went to our first Belgian concert together... Dropkick Murphys!

The concert was near Brussels (about 45 minutes away from our apartment) so I cooked an early dinner for us and then we headed off to the concert.  It was quite a scene!  A huge mix of people and ages in the crowd.  My favorite were the older Scottish men in their kilts.  Like really what is cuter than an old guy with a Scottish accent, in a kilt, drinking a big beer, jamming out to an Irish punk rock band?!

After Dustin purchased his souvenir (another damn t-shirt-haha) he got his beer and I got my wine.  Definitely not a New Orleans concert as you had one choice of beer, Jupiler (the European Budweiser!) and either red or white wine.  Since the wine glasses were so small, I got two and dumped them in a larger plastic cup.  I'll always be a Southern girl... definitely made my momma proud!

The opening acts were pretty good and we opted for some front row seats instead of crowding on the floor.  Although I do love a crazy rock concert, it was much more entertaining to watch the mosh pits from an elevated surface than dodge them on the floor!

The band was awesome!  If you haven't listened to them before you have to look them up... think a mix of punk rock and old Irish pub music!  They had so much energy and filled the stage with a bunch of their fans by the end of the concert.

Time for Some Acoustics... My Favorite!

I can't wait to go see more shows at the venue, it was pretty small and you could tell no seat was a bad seat!  So since Dustin picked this one, the next concert is my choice (Melissa Etheridge is going to be there in February... hint, hint)

Anyways I'm off to get my costume together for the 80's party tonight!  That shouldn't be too hard with the fashion around here!
